Day 10 arrive in Xi'an
After lunch, we flew to Xi'an, where it was much cooler and we were thankful. We had dinner at the hotel and checked into our room on the 15th floor. I chose not to walk while Paul went out with some of our tour group. They learned it was a challenge to get across the street safely--but they made it. Paul's observation was that everyone understands the flow--between buses, trucks, cars, bicycles and people, they all seem to know when to go and when to stop. The group stopped at KFC for ice cream on the way back to the hotel.
The 1st picture shows assorted people and vehicles waiting to cross the street. The second picture shows rush hour traffic. The third shows the combination of people/cars/trucks/bicycles/motor bikes navigating the intersection. The traffic lights are often ignored. The fourth shows a bike parking lot on the sidewalk. Each bike/motor bike gets a tag and an attendant watches the bikes.
