Day 3 Beijing

This is a view from our hotel window at daybreak. Our bodies are still on California time, and we had been awake for hours! I thought I had a good night's sleep, but it was only 1 AM. After sleeping on and off the rest of the night, we got up about 5:30 and leisurely got ready for the day. Breakfast was at 7AM and we had "American Breakfast" of eggs, sausage, ham, bacon and very nice rolls. The juice was Tang and the water was warm with lemon squeezed into it. Actually warm water was good -- it meant that it had been boiled. Our first lesson in China was DON'T DRINK THE WATER.

We got ready to go and boarded the bus about 8AM for the Summer Palace. This was actually a very large garden and quite beautiful. It was Sunday morning so there were lots of people there, but we were told the afternoon would have LOTS more.
