Pretrip drive to the Bay area
We left home about 12:30 and drove up to my brother's home in Redwood City. It was an uneventful trip, although we had set the GPS for "minimum distance" which surprised us because it wanted us to take surface streets through San Jose. After changing the route and taking the freeway, we still arrived by 4:10. My brother was able to proudly show off his 64 1/2 Mustang convertable, which had just been completely restored. He even had a drive-in tray on the window with fake food and a "Mel's Diner" menu. On the menu, hambergers were $.35 and cheeseburgers were $.40. This is a view of the sunset from his back patio.
