Day 14 Close encounters with a water buffalo

We made one stop where the water buffalo was right next to the road. We have since figured out that this countryside tour is a VERY frequent occurrence, and the people make a good living from it. David, our local guide, told us which man we could photograph, (the one he was paying) but there were several other locals too, and they all got into the act. Tourism seems to be good for the farmers too.

Apparently David paid them all, because Paul was invited to ride a different water buffalo. As you can see, they are bigger than they look!

We have no idea what the last man is carrying or what it is used for. He just "happened" by when we stopped.
